Tell us about yourself:

>> Adam:  Hello, my name is Adam.  I live in British Columbia, Canada.  I am a husband and I have four beautiful kids.  And I love making games.

What is your favorite video-game and why?

My favorite video game would be hard to pin down.  As I had ‑- I’ve had many favorite video games that I’ve enjoyed.  I enjoyed,  you know, playing Warcraft II back in the day.  I enjoyed playing Civilization.  There are so many games that I — that became my favorite, you know, through the years.  Right now, I’d have to say my favorite game would be League of Legends by Riot Games.  I’ve played it for about 8 years now.  And their ability to consistently refine and reinvent their product is just phenomenal.  Their game just keeps getting better and better.  It’s really impressive.

What is one of your favorite moments volunteering for Games For Love?

I have to say one of my favorite moments was when we had a change of programmers and I wasn’t sure how we were going to move forward.  And we had one of our younger programmers step up and say,  “I can handle it.”  And took on the project and did an excellent job.  Really excellent job.  And, yeah, we’ve been rockin’ and rollin’ ever since and it’s been an awesome experience.

Do you have any pets? If not, what kind of pet would you want?

No. But I do have a sense of humor.  [laughter]  If I did have a pet, I’d want it to be a falcon who would pick up my newspaper for me.

Where do you See Yourself in Three Years?

In three years, I hope to be elbows deep in a game project, whether that’s for a major studio or a minor studio or ‑‑ any sort of project.  I feel called to making games.  I feel like I have stories to tell and I’m excited to continue to use my talents and my gifts for that purpose.

What is your philosophy towards your work?

If I had to break it down, I would say it probably falls under three points.  I would say it’s understanding, message and excellence.  Understanding where I want to fully understand what problem or situation or what story needs to be told.  And then I want to, through a strong message, deliver that answer, that solution, that experience.  And then, I also want to do it in a way that provides an excellent experience, whether that’s through art, whether that’s through concepts and player interactions.  It’s all under that umbrella of understanding, excellence, and message.

Bonus Question: If you could grow hair only on your beard or on your hair, which would you choose?

Obviously, my beard because I could trim my beard and make a toupée.  But you can’t make a beard toupée.  It’s an obvious answer.

Bloopers:
