When a child falls ill, the entire family feels the impact. Hospital stays, long treatments, and miles of travel can disrupt daily life and create overwhelming stress. In those moments, staying together becomes more than comfort—it’s a lifeline.
That’s why Games For Love is proud to assist Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) to bring families the healing power of play. Across many Ronald McDonald Houses and Family Rooms worldwide, we provide gaming consoles that offer more than just entertainment—they provide distraction therapy and a priceless sense of normalcy.
“When the kid is smiling, the parents aren’t frowning.”
— Nathan Blair, Games For Love Founder & CEO
Parents who have spent hours by a hospital bed know that seeing their child laugh, even for a few minutes, is a gift. Whether it’s a sibling bonding over a game or a patient escaping into a virtual adventure, those moments of joy ease anxiety and strengthen family connections.
A New Home for Hope in St. Louis
In June 2024, RMHC St. Louis opened The Grove Ronald McDonald House, a stunning 76,000-square-foot facility with 72 bedrooms. Along with the existing West County House, St. Louis can now host 92 families each night.
Games For Love was honored to outfit the Grove House with gaming consoles, ensuring families have a place to laugh, play, and recharge. Last year alone, RMHC St. Louis received 56,904 visits to their family rooms.
Jacob McGuire, a Director at the new house, shared:
“The families are enjoying the games so much! They’re played with daily by so many kids in the House.”
One young gamer, Tyler, couldn’t agree more:
“If you are bored, it’s fun to be in the room. I spend most of my free time in the game room. There’s a lot to enjoy. I’m glad there are so many different options and a lot of versatility in the games.”
Moments like these show the true impact of play—not just for kids, but for parents who get to see their child smile again.
Beyond the House
Games For Love also works independently with St. Louis hospitals to bring gaming directly to children receiving care. At Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital, Mercy Children’s Hospital, and St. Louis Children’s Hospital, we supply consoles for gaming lounges and bedside play, serving many thousands of young patients each year. Whether it’s in a hospital room or a dedicated game space, our mission remains the same: to deliver moments of comfort, joy, and connection when families need them most.
