How Games For Love is Helping Children Internationally
After Games For Love has operated a 1UP LifeBridge Program in the Philippines, the program has been growing rapidly. Over the next month, gaming consoles are being shipped to our partners to expand our impact internationally to allow children an opportunity to experience enjoyment and fun.
As we partner with these hospitals, child-well-being facilities and organizations all over the world, allows us the privilege to assess distraction therapy needs in these facilities which treat children, and partner long-term to provide a blanket coverage over them.
We supply as much as possible, and we comprehensively look at what the hospitals have in place and what needs to be fixed. Do they have broken consoles? We will get them working again. Do they not have consoles, or any equipment? We ensure they are given equipment, with games, and with controllers. Are they looking at setting up a game room in the future? We talk with our sponsors and partners to see what state-of-the-art equipment we can bring in to make an accessible, fun play space for children of all ages.
Games For Love is a comprehensive solution, supplementing these facilities to fill in any gaps they may be experiencing in their distraction therapy needs. In the Philippines, only the most wealthy in communities usually have access to gaming and distraction therapy equipment. We are bringing in equipment for the first time to our partners to set up stations in 2 locations – CRU (Critical Recovery Unit) wing, and an adjacent Children’s Shelter.
We are excited to share with you the coming impact that we will provide long term!
